About

My relationship with yoga began more than 35 years ago when I discovered it while living in northern Canada.

Without access to a local teacher, I began practicing on my own through books and videos. Years later, discovering a yoga studio and experienced teachers opened the door to a much deeper exploration of the practice.

After my first yoga practice, something shifted inside me. I felt more at peace and more comfortable with myself, and I knew then that yoga would always be a part of my life.

Over time, yoga changed the way I think about caring for myself—not only through movement, but through the choices I make every day: eating well, being mindful of what I read and watch, and being intentional about the people I spend time with.

Eventually, that awareness expanded beyond my own well-being. I began to see how the benefits of my yoga practice could deepen the way I connect with others and contribute to the world around me.

That journey eventually led me to teacher training and, in 2009, I began to teach Yoga

From Practice to Teaching

Yoga began as a way for me to move and feel better in my body. Over time, I discovered that its greatest gifts extended far beyond the physical practice. Yoga taught me to pay attention — to my breath, my body, my thoughts and my responses to life.

That understanding continues to shape the way I teach today.

A Lifelong Student

I believe that being a good teacher means remaining a student.

Over the years I have continued to study with experienced teachers and explore different approaches to yoga, mindfulness, movement and teaching.

Some highlights include:

  • 800+ hours of formal yoga teacher training
  • White Lotus Yoga Teacher Training, Ganga White & Tracey Rich
  • Advanced Yoga Studies with Donna Farhi
  • Om Yoga 300-hour yoga teacher training with Cyndi Lee
  • Mindfulness Meditation training with Cyndi Lee
  • Trauma-informed yoga training through Yoga Outreach
  • Teaching yoga since 2009
  • Ongoing study in yoga, movement and healthy aging

How I Teach Today

My classes combine breath, movement, mindfulness and meditation.

I encourage students to be curious rather than trying to achieve a particular shape or "perfect" pose.

You will be invited to explore your own abilities, listen to your body and discover ways to adapt the practice so that yoga continues to serve you throughout your life.

My goal is for you to leave class feeling more connected, more capable and more at ease, while developing the confidence and independence to make the practice your own.
